Secure

CryptBoard uses AES 256 encryption. This is the same encryption OS X uses for when encrypting files. What does this mean? Your information is not going anywhere. Unless you share your password of course ;).

Simple

Being in your OS X Dashboard makes CryptBoard easily accessible, just open your Dashboard and all your information is right there. No fumbling with opening applications and digging for information.

Smart

With Autolocking you can access your information and just leave. No need to re-secure your data. If you need repeated access, you can add a delay so you don't need your password every time.

Synchronize

If you have a Mobile Me account CryptBoard will simply synchonize with your other computers. No need to manually copy the information over.

FAQ

When I upgrade to CryptBoard 2 the widget gets stuck a the "Loading..." screen, what's wrong?

When upgrading CryptBoard sometimes the Dashboard isn't completely unloading the old CryptBoard before running CryptBoard 2. To fix this please reboot. Contact support if the problem still persists after rebooting.

I've forgotten my password, what do I do?

Unfortunately if you've forgotten your password your data is lost. This is due to the fact that the only way to really keep your important information safe is to only allow one person (you) access to the data with a password.

If you've forgotten your password you can reset the data. To reset click on the "i" in the lower right hand corner of the widget. From this screen you can reset your data.

How do I backup my CryptBoard database?

Your database is stored on your hard-drive at:

Macintosh HD > Users > [YOUR USER FOLDER] > Library > Preferences > widget-com.warptube.widget.CryptBoard.plist

I entered in all my information, closed CryptBoard and now all my information is gone, what happened?

Older versions of CryptBoard were designed to keep your data while you left the widget active on your Mac OS X Dashboard. If you removed it from your Dashboard it will dispose of all the information you entered.

The current version of Dashboard should prevent you from losing you data even if you close it.

Please contact support if you experience data loss with the newest version of CryptBoard.

I've created a password, but can't enter in any data, what's wrong?

If you've created a password and CryptBoard has opened up, but you're unable to enter in any data then you're probably running into the Tiger glitch. CryptBoard is not supported on Apple OS X Tiger. This is causing it to be unusable.

If you're running leopard and have this issue please send us an email so we can address the issue.
